Our Founding
Hey, I’m Troy. Back in 2017, I had just graduated high school and was trying to figure out what my next move in life was going to be. I always knew that I wanted to work in sales and the technology industry seemed like the perfect place to start. The only problem was deciding whether or not I had to go through 4 years of expensive college to get a degree that wasn't even related to sales.
I decided that there had to be a better way, so I chose to use online education to teach myself technology sales and discovered a much better way to start a career without spending huge amounts of time or money. At age 18, with no family connections, I was able to land a tech sales internship, get promoted to a sales development rep, and even work my way up to an account executive selling 6 figure deals by the age of 19.
At age 19, I had saved up a substantial amount of money and didn't have any debt, which allowed me to start CourseCareers to replace the college system and change the way people start careers.
By age 24, we built the largest online education company in the college alternative space, changing the way people start careers and increasing the bar for entry-level talent that companies rely upon.
We're only getting started. We won't stop until every person in the world can unlock their true potential.
The Lean Career
I wrote a book called The Lean Career which gives students a guide on how they can start their careers in the modern world at a fraction of the time and cost of going to college. It teaches why people currently use the college model, it’s inherent inefficiencies, and how to use a much more efficient model built for today’s economy.
