Is a career in architectural drafting right for me?

A career in drafting may be right for you if you:

  • Enjoy working on a computer and using design software
  • Like solving problems and organizing information visually
  • Pay close attention to detail
  • Have an interest in how buildings and spaces are constructed
  • Prefer practical, hands-on work over theory or lectures

You don’t need to be a great artist, but visual thinking and spatial awareness help. Basic math skills are important, especially for measurements and scaling, but advanced math isn’t required.
