Can I run paid ads to promote my affiliate link?

No, paid ads are not allowed to be used when promoting your affiliate link. We have had people running ads that compete with our own ads making our ads cost us more per click. On top of that, we were paying commissions to the affiliates that were competing with our ads. We want our affiliates to work with us, not against us.
