First, please make sure you understand how the new affiliate platform works. The following are the 4 most common reasons.
Scenario 1: If the person you referred did not use your affiliate link on the device and browser they used when registering for CourseCareers, then your affiliate ID will not be associated with their course purchase. The affiliate ID is initially set in a cookie until the user registers. Tracking unregistered users is very difficult and could have privacy implications and we respect our visitors' privacy. It is up to the user/purchaser to follow through with the correct sequence of events and we have no control over that. Referrals are non-retroactive meaning we cannot go back and manually add a referral to a purchase order.
Scenario 2: Likely, the person who clicked your link had previously clicked another affiliate's link first. We use what is called first-click attribution. You can read more about first-click attribution in this FAQ.
Scenario 3: Another common reason is that the purchaser received a refund for the course.
Scenario 4: On the Affiliate Analytics page, if you see unpaid commissions for one or more purchases you will want to check and make sure the Payment date is more than 14 days ago from last Friday's payout date.
Scenario 5: Your PayPal email address may be missing from your Affiliate Settings page.
Scenario 6: US tax rules may require us to collect a digital W-9 or W-8 form from you before we can pay you. On the Refer Friends page a Pop-up will appear if you are required to fill out the form.
