What can I do if someone used my card fraudulently to purchase a course?

Updated June 20, 2025

If the unauthorized charge was made within the last 14 days, we may be able to issue a refund directly to your card. Please contact us as soon as possible with the transaction date, amount, and the last 4 digits of the card used. We also recommend reporting the charge to your bank or card issuer immediately so they can secure your account. Let them know you've requested a refund from CourseCareers.

Important: If your bank initiates a chargeback (dispute), the funds will be held by Stripe, our payment processor, and we will no longer be able to issue a refund. Once a dispute is active, it must be resolved through your bank.

If the fraudulent purchase occurred more than 14 days ago, we are unable to issue a direct refund. In this case, you’ll need to report the charge to your bank or card issuer. They can help secure your account and likely initiate a chargeback.
